Part# BMS11002200

The Victron Energy Smart BMS CL 12/100 is a Battery Management System for Victron lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) Smart Batteries. It has been specifically designed for 12V systems with a 12V alternator; usage of this BMS in systems of alternate nominal voltages or batteries is not supported.

The Smart BMS CL 12/100 monitors and protects each individual battery cell within the battery (or battery bank - supports a maximum of 5 Smart 12.8V LFP batteries in parallel) and will disconnect the alternator, charge sources, or DC loads in case of low battery voltage, high battery voltage or over-temperature.

The dedicated alternator/start battery input provides current limiting and one-way traffic from the alternator into the LFP battery bank so that any size alternator can be safely connected to the Smart Lithium battery bank; supports a maximum charge current of 100A. As with all installations, please ensure that you select a charge rate which is equal to or less than 50% of the alternator's rated output current minus chassis loads; failure to do so may result in alternator failure and/or other system damage.

The Smart BMS CL 12/100 is also equipped with a remote on/off connector, to turn the BMS (and the system) off via a remote switch, and a pre-alarm contact, to give a warning signal before the BMS will disconnect the batteries from the system.

Please note:

This component may only be used with Victron Smart 12.8V LFP component battery systems; while it can be used in systems with a VE.Bus product in place, it is not necessarily the ideal solution, and will require advanced programming - see the user manuals below. This component may not be used on other brands of batteries, DIY battery packs, or in systems of any nominal voltage other than 12V.

This component is powered from the start battery connection. It cannot be connected directly to an alternator, nor connected through DC-DC chargers or any other source that does not provide uninterrupted 12V power.
