OWL Talon Transit AWD Wheels
OWL Talon Transit AWD Wheels
We love almost everything about the new Ford Transit AWD. While the new Transit is quickly gaining a reputation as a fantastic option in the Adventure Van market, there are a few aspects that need some addressing. First and foremost are the hideous factory wheels. We don't use that word often, but let's face it, those wheels take an otherwise fantastic van and make it look even more like a plumbing van. From the first moment we got our Transit, we knew we wanted to create a capable and beautiful wheel solution for it.
Lead-Time: In Stock. Usually ships in about a week. This is an estimate and stock levels can change quickly.
TALON TRANSIT WHEEL FEATURES
Offset - The offset of a transit wheel is what makes them look so odd from the factory. It is not often (with the exception of a dually) that the hub mounting surface is outside of the wheel. This is how the offset is on the Transit AWD. Due to those strange offsets it makes it very hard for wheel manufacturers to make a decent-looking wheel for the AWD Transit. Enter the Owl Talon, fresh off the massive success of our Talon wheel for Sprinters, the Talon for Transits takes that same overbuilt, solid but elegant aesthetic to the Owl Transit.
Load Capacity - With the massive weight of modern van builds, we felt it was time to build a wheel that was both lightweight but also drastically increased the load-carrying capacity of the wheel. In basic terms, we wanted something stronger that could take the abuse of a 10,000lbs van pounding the dirt offroad and on. Here are some specs:
- Owl Talon - 4200lbs
- Method 701 - 3600lbs
- BR Barstow - 2700lbs
- BR Arsenal - 2600lbs

- Fits Ford Transit 2500 4WD (Does not fit 2WD)

- Size: 17"x8"
- Bolt Pattern: 6x180mm

- Requires New Lug Bolts (sold separately)
Dual Valve Stem System - We know how critical lowering air pressure is for traction off-road. We also how what a pain and how time-consuming lowering tire pressure can be. That's why we decide to innovate on the Owl Talon and include a second valve stem location. This second valve stem allows you to run the factory TPMS (tire pressure monitors) as well as run an Apex quick air dump system. This dual valve stem system allows for the best of both worlds.
*Apex valves are not required. If you don't order the Apex valves with the wheels you can simply install a second standard valve stem.
